With the additions of Benjamin Sesko and Matheus Cunha at Manchester United, Joshua Zirkzee is struggling for game time.

Rasmus Hojlund left last summer and is now starring for Napoli in Serie A. However, Zirkzee stayed and has featured in just three Premier League games.

Zirkzee was at Bologna before he joined United, and has options to return to Serie A. His former club, as well as Como, Juventus, and Inter Milan, are reportedly interested.

Returning to Italy could be a smart move for Zirkzee to get his confidence back. However, his time in English football would be seen as a failure.

In total, Zirkzee has scored just seven goals with three assists in 53 games for United. He has talent; otherwise, he would not be an international for the Netherlands.

A move to a Premier League side where he can become more of the main man would benefit Zirkzee.

According to Football Insider, "Zirkzee could be set to leave Manchester United in the January transfer window...  West Ham United have now also joined the race for Zirkzee."

Would Joshua Zirkzee be a good fit for West Ham United?

At 6 ft 4, Zirkzee has the build of strikers who have flourished under Nuno Espirito Santo in the past, such as Chris Wood and Raul Jimenez.

The new West Ham manager will be keen to sign his own players in January, and bringing in a player from United would be a big statement.

The Hammers could do with some younger legs up front, as their current options, Niclas Fullkrug and Calum Wilson, are 32 and 33, respectively.

Fullkrug is yet to score in the Premier League this season, whilst Wilson has just one goal in the division this campaign.

West Ham are currently 19th in the Premier League, so if Nuno is to prevent them from being relegated, then he will need more firepower.
