Manchester City completed the sale of Kyle Walker to Burnley on Saturday, July 5. The club is now in the market for a replacement to support the right side of their defense.

Pep Guardiola has already made several big signings this summer, with Rayan Cherki, Tijjani Reijnders, and Rayan Ait-Nouri all arriving and making their debuts during the Club World Cup

Guardiola will need to find a replacement for Walker, and his apparent target is already on the radar of several other clubs.

Who could be Walker's replacement?

City have defenders capable of playing on the right side, but Guardiola would prefer to have a natural right-back.

The club is now being linked to Denzel Dumfries and has held talks with Inter Milan over the defender, according to sources of FootballTransfers.

Dumfries has a release clause of €25m, but the clause expires on July 15, meaning City would have to be quick to sign the Dutch international.

Dumfries is 29 years old, making him valuable as a replacement with all of his experience. Dumfries also brings in an added attacking threat, as the fullback had 16 goal contributions for Inter this season.

Barcelona and Atlético Madrid have both shown an interest in Dumfries, but Barcelona are facing financial challenges, which could rule the Catalan side out of the race.

Man City are said to have a good relationship with Dumfries' agent, which could help Guardiola's side in signing the Dutch defender quickly in a very good deal.
