Talented Manchester City youngster Claudio Echeverri is set to spend the 2025-26 season on loan at Bundesliga side Bayern Leverkusen.
The 19-year-old made just three appearances for City last season, including a debut cameo in the FA Cup final defeat to Crystal Palace.
The Argentine did, however, bag his first goal in City’s 6-0 FIFA Club World Cup win over Al-Ain in June.
Echeverri joined City from River Plate for £12.5m in January 2024 and will now continue his development under former Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag in Germany.

With Florian Wirtz departing to Liverpool earlier this summer, Leverkusen likely see him as a player capable of stepping into that creative void.
City manager Pep Guardiola has also been increasingly adamant that he wants to work with a smaller squad, recently admitting that it’s “not healthy” to leave so many players out of matchday squads and that as a result, he “cannot create a good atmosphere to compete.”
City are stacked in the attacking midfield role that Echeverri would thrive in, having added Rayan Cherki and Tijjani Reijnders over the summer, in addition to already having Omar Marmoush and Phil Foden in the squad, both of whom operate in a similar position.
A loan move therefore suits all parties, with Guardiola having previously praised the teenager’s quality but conceding that regular minutes would be difficult to come by this season.

Owing to Guardiola’s comments, City might also be looking to trim the squad further with less than two weeks left in the transfer window.
Midfielder Sverre Nyapan completed a loan move to Middlesbrough earlier on Tuesday, while Tottenham Hotspur remain interested in Brazilian winger Savinho, though reports from BBC Sport suggest a sale would only happen for a significant fee.
Should he depart, it is widely reported that Guardiola’s first choice replacement would be Real Madrid superstar Rodrygo.
Ederson could also be on the move, with Turkish giants Galatasaray heavily interested.
The Super Lig champions are also monitoring Manuel Akanji, though a move for the Swiss international seems significantly less likely at the moment.
City got their Premier League campaign off to a perfect start with a 4-0 drubbing of Wolves last time out but will be preparing for a tougher challenge against Spurs on Saturday (August 23).
