Pep Guardiola is adding to his goalkeeping department at Manchester City, as a deal is in place to bring back a former shot stopper of the club.
James Trafford will complete a move back to the Etihad Stadium just two years after leaving for Burnley in a deal that was worth £19m.
As part of the sale in 2023, City inserted a buy-back clause of £40m should the club wish to bring back Trafford at any point.
However, the club will not have to pay that amount. Another clause in the sale included City being able to match an accepted offer from any other club wishing to sign Trafford.
Newcastle United were the club interested and made an offer of £27m for the goalkeeper.
City chose to match that offer and Trafford's preference is to return to his former club, so they will ultimately beat out Newcastle to the player's signature.
Trafford is expected to compete with current City goalkeeper, Ederson, for the starting position in net. This is despite the Brazilian being of strong interest to Galatasaray, as City wish to hold on to him and are yet to receive an official bid for the player.

Who have City already signed this summer?
Trafford's imminent arrival continues a big summer of spending at City. The club has already spent over £120 million on new additions.
Rayan Cherki has been brought in from Lyon to improve the side's creativity after the recent departure of club legend, Kevin De Bruyne.
Tijjani Reijnders joined from AC Milan and is expected to provide further quality in the midfield, whist Rayan Ait-Nouri was acquired from Wolves to aid the left side of City's defence.
Also, 18-year-old Norwegian midfielder, Sverre Nypan, joined last week from Rosenborg and is regarded as a bright prospect.
Guardiola will be hoping his new additions improve City's levels this upcoming season and prevent the side going successive seasons without silverware.
