Liverpool boss Arne Slot is expected to overhaul his team in the coming days as he looks to end a four-game losing streak.
The Reds have dramatically slipped in recent weeks, with the worst run of Slot's managerial career, as Arsenal have gained an edge in the Premier League title race.
One of the main areas of concern for the Dutch coach has been the struggles of his big-money summer signings after spending over £100m [$134m] each on Florian Wirtz and Alexander Isak.
June's move to bring in Wirtz from Bayer Leverkusen broke the Premier League transfer record before Slot smashed it again on deadline day to land Isak.
A slow start to the campaign for Isak has been part explained by his three months of inaction over the summer after going on strike to force his exit from Newcastle United.
The Sweden international has not scored a goal in Premier League or UEFA Champions League action after six appearances with four as a starter.

Fans are short on reasons for Wirtz's adaptation issues, on the back of support landing for the 22-year-old from German national team boss Julian Nagelsmann and former Reds chief Jurgen Klopp.
Wirtz has featured in all ten of Liverpool's combined 10 EPL and UCL matches, with five league starts and two from two in Europe, but he's still without a goal or assist.
Ahead of a key UCL clash with Eintracht Frankfurt, Wirtz has received unexpected support from Tottenham Hotspur boss Thomas Frank, who compared his start to life at Anfield to new Spurs star Xavi Simons.

"Xavi is a very good comparison with Wirtz, who is also a very good player. Very good players coming into a couple of things - new country, new club, new city. You just need to settle in, it's part of it," the Danish coach stated.
Frank, Nagelsmann, Klopp and Slot are in agreement of things beginning to turn in Wirtz's favour - but Slot is preparing to make changes - with Mohamed Salah facing a starting XI cut.
Wirtz is yet complete a full 90 minutes in the Premier League this season but he's played four full 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers for Germany.
