Liverpool have suffered a slight setback in their Premier League title defence as one of the club's newest recruits is set for a spell on the sidelines.
Arne Slot confirmed on Thursday that Jeremie Frimpong will be unavailable until the end of the September international break due to suffering a hamstring injury.
The Dutch right-back picked up the injury during his new side's 4-2 victory over Bournemouth last Friday (August 15).

He was taken off for Wataru Endo in the second half of the Premier League opener as a precaution and to not aggravate the issue.
The Liverpool defender is now set to miss big upcoming league games against Newcastle United and Arsenal.
The 24-year-old will also be unavailable for the Netherlands' World Cup qualifiers against Poland and Lithuania next month.
The injury is a blow for Frimpong, as he would have wanted to adjust to Premier League football as soon as possible following his £29.5m summer move from Bayer Leverkusen.

Liverpool's medical staff alerted Slot about Frimpong's injury
The Liverpool medical staff were the ones to make the decision to substitute Frimpong against Bournemouth, according to the Liverpool manager.
"The medical team was completely right about Jeremie. To tell me I had to take him off because he's out until the end of the international break," Slot confirmed in his pre-match press conference ahead of facing Newcastle on Monday night (August 25).
"I think I got criticised a bit by taking him off. (The medical team) felt he had an issue in his hamstring. (It was a) good call to take him off otherwise he might have been out for longer," he added.
The good news for Slot is that right-back Conor Bradley recently began first-team training again, while versatile defender Joe Gomez is gradually nearing full-fitness.
Frimpong will be hoping to be back in action for Liverpool when his new team visits Burnley on September 14.
