The Liverpool ownership will back Arne Slot once again in the 2026 transfer market.
The Dutch coach twice broke the Premier League transfer record this summer, as he paid over £100m for Florian Wirtz and £125m for Alexander Isak, in squad rebuild to defend his top-flight title.
Overall, the Reds ended the summer transfer window as the EPL's top spenders on £415m, but with a net spend of £228m balanced against sales.
Despite making a club record outlay for one window, Slot wants more in 2026, with Crystal Palace captain Marc Guehi still on his radar as a free agent at the end of the campaign.
However, alongside a cut-price deal for Guehi, Slot has been told he must break the £100m mark again in 2026, if he wants to land Atletico Madrid striker Julian Alvarez.
Liverpool were linked with an offer for Alvarez prior to his £81m move from Manchester City to Madrid in 2024 but Pep Guardiola blocked the attempts of his old rival Jurgen Klopp.

Slot has reportedly revived the link despite Alvarez emerging as Diego Simeone's talisman in the Spanish capital and Liverpool can afford another huge move if needed.
Liverpool told eye-watering Julian Alvarez transfer price
Alvarez scored 29 goals in all competitions in 2024/25 but Atletico Madrid failed to win a trophy or challenge for the La Liga title.
That sparked rumours of frustration from his end, amid 'promises made' over transfers, to bolster their chances of battling Real Madrid and Barcelona.

Simeone has splashed the cash over the summer, but their season start has been mixed, despite thrashing Real Madrid 5-2 in the derby.
As per Football Insider, Simeone will fight with everything at his disposal to keep Alvarez, and the club will not listen to any offer which falls below the £100m mark.
With a contract until 2030, the full onus would be on Liverpool to drag Atletico Madrid to the negotiating table, and a deal could be paused until 2027 when Mohamed Salah is expected to leave Anfield.
