Liverpool suffered a second successive loss on Tuesday night (September 30), as Arne Slot's men were beaten 1-0 by Galatasaray in the Champions League.
The defeat in Turkey came just three days after Crystal Palace handed The Reds their first defeat of the campaign.
Among those to have struggled in these recent losses, and for most of the season to date, is big summer signing Florian Wirtz.
The £115m German addition from Bayer Leverkusen has yet to register a goal involvement in a competitive outing for his new side and has struggled to adapt to the pace of English football.
Due to Liverpool having to make room for their new attacking midfielder on the pitch, Alexis Mac Allister and Curtis Jones have seen less game time, while Dominik Szoboszlai has been shifted to right-back on a few occasions.
After being left out from the start for Liverpool's Merseyside derby win, Wirtz was shifted out to the left wing in the defeat at Palace, but there were no changes to his performance levels and the team did not appear better balanced.

Slot has been left with a headache, as it seems very difficult right now for him to fit Wirtz into any version of a balanced starting line-up for Liverpool.
Jamie Carragher on decision Liverpool must make over Wirtz

Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher spoke on the current state of his former club following the loss to Galatasaray, and suggested a big call that Slot may have to make over Wirtz.
"Right now I don't think the balance of the team is right and the obvious one that stands out is Florian Wirtz," the ex-defender said on Tuesday's CBS UCL Today show.
"He's just not at the races at all. He's a young boy coming into a new league, he has got plenty of time to go as a Liverpool player, but right now I think he needs to come out of the team," Carragher boldly claimed.
The former Liverpool centre-back believes the Premier League holders now need to revert to the more high-intense and balanced set-up that was deployed last season.
"Liverpool went from a workmanlike team and have sprinkled a little bit of stardust in terms of the transfers brought in. They haven't gained anything going forward but have lost a lot defensively."
"Liverpool (should) go back to what they were last season and then go from there and build some confidence, build some defensive solidity," he explained.
The Reds will be aiming to return to winning ways starting with their trip to Chelsea on Saturday evening October 4), and Slot may need to follow Carragher's advice if he wants to see a vast improvement in performance from his side.
