Liverpool fans have had a bit of a wait to see Alexander Isak in action.
The striker set a new record for a Premier League transfer and became the fourth most expensive player in history when he signed for the Reds from Newcastle United for £125 million ($168.7m) on transfer deadline day in September.
Isak had effectively gone on strike to force through an exit from the Magpies, meaning he missed their preseason fixtures and was not involved in the opening four matchweeks of the Premier League.
The striker featured for Sweden during the international break, and Liverpool boss Arne Slot felt he was ready to make his debut for his new club in the UEFA Champions League opener against Atletico Madrid at Anfield.
Here is how Isak got on.
Alexander Isak stats vs. Atletico Madrid
Isak started the game against Atletico and played for 58 minutes before being substituted for Hugo Ekitike.
His performance was reasonable, but nothing special. He had a FotMob rating of 6.7, which was the lowest of Liverpool's starting outfield players at that point in the game apart from Cody Gakpo (6.5).
Isak did not manage to score or set up a goal. He had two shots, one of which was on target and drew a save from Jan Oblak.
He won only three out of eight duels and completed one of three attempted dribbles, which perhaps highlighted his lack of physical sharpness after spending so long out of action.
