England goalkeeper Jordan Pickford has reportedly agreed terms on a new contract with Everton.

BBC Sports reported on Monday (October 13) that while the deal has been completed, an official announcement is expected in the coming days.

Pickford, whose current deal runs until 2027, joined the Toffees in 2017 for £30m, which at the time set a British record for a goalkeeper.

The 31-year-old has been an integral part of the club since his arrival, even having been named Everton’s player of the year on four occasions, including each of the past three seasons.

Though he is currently on international duty with England, Pickford told BBC Radio 5 Live that the contract details have been finalised.

“I think it’s agreed. I have got my sole focus on tomorrow’s game [against Latvia] to be fair. I have got my England head on,” Pickford said on Monday.

“We’ll see what happens after that, but yes, we’re in a good place.”

The extension represents a significant boost for Everton, who recently also secured captain James Tarkowski on a fresh two-year deal earlier this month.

Since arriving from boyhood club Sunderland, Pickford has racked up 329 appearances for Everton.

He has been instrumental in helping the club maintain their place in the Premier League despite a host of problems, including but not limited to managerial changes, financial rule breaches, and points deductions in recent seasons.

Pickford has been first-choice for England between the posts since the 2018 World Cup, having made 80 appearances in total for the Three Lions.

He recently set a new record by keeping eight consecutive clean sheets for England, surpassing a long-standing record held by Gordon Banks, with the streak capped by England’s comfortable 3-0 victory over Wales on October 9.

The last goal he conceded for England came more than a year ago, in a 2-1 Nations League defeat to Greece.
