Everton goalkeeper Jordan Pickford has set an ambitious target for the club after signing a new four-year contract.
The England shot-stopper’s new deal will see him extend his stay at Hill Dickinson Stadium until June 2029, adding two extra years to the remaining two left on his current contract.
Pickford joined Everton in 2017 from boyhood club Sunderland and has so far made 326 appearances for the Toffees.
The 31-year-old also featured in his 300th Premier League match for Everton in his last outing against Crystal Palace, becoming only the second goalkeeper to do so after Tim Howard, who turned out 354 times.
During the recent October international break, Pickford also made headlines as he became the first England goalkeeper to keep nine straight clean sheets, helping the Three Lions to seal their spot at next summer’s World Cup in the process.

Pickford’s ambitious aims
With Everton currently sitting eighth in the table after a promising start, Pickford believes that the club can aim even higher, suggesting that their goal this season is to qualify for Europe, and perhaps even win some silverware in the future.
“I’m delighted, just delighted to get it done. It’s an extra two years, so four years in total,” he told EvertonTV.
“I’m over the moon, and it gives me the opportunity to build a legacy for myself here, move forward and build this club to where we want to be.

“Everton is a really special club to me. Coming from Sunderland as a young lad and growing into a man here, it’s been a special time for me and my family.
“I think the dark days are behind us, and it’s about building that momentum as a team and the club now. I think it’s the whole deal, really.”
Pickford also echoed vice-captain James Tarkowski, who also recently agreed fresh terms with the Toffees, in stating that manager David Moyes is pushing the squad to dream of Europe this season.
“The manager wanted us to continue our form into this one, and he’ll keep pushing us. We’ve started well, and we want to keep building that momentum and get Everton Football Club back to a team that competes in Europe.
“We know it’s tough to do, but it’s a journey we want to go on, and it’s hard work that we’ll put in as a club. We want to have that direction and, hopefully, one day we’ll lift some silverware as well.”
