James Tarkowski has committed his future to Everton by signing a fresh two-year extension with the Premier League club.
The defender's previous deal was set to run until 2026, but he is now set remain with the Merseyside outfit until at least the end of the 2027/28 campaign.
News of the extension will be welcomed by Everton supporters as Tarkowski has been a crucial member of the team's backline since joining the club on a free transfer from Burnley in 2022.

The centre-back famously scored a dramatic late-equaliser against Liverpool in the final Merseyside derby at Goodison Park last season.
He currently serves as the vice-captain for David Moyes' side and has played every minute of the side's solid start to the current Premier League campaign.
After seven games, The Toffees sit eighth in the table, just three points off the Champions League spots.

Tarkowski has specific goal in mind at Everton

Following his contract renewal, Tarkowski expressed sheer delight and mentioned Moyes' role in helping make his decision.
"I'm super excited and proud to be an Everton player and to continue this journey," the 32-year-old told evertontv.
"I’ve loved every minute of working under the manager. He has made it clear where we're going with this club. The results and performances have really improved in his time here and it does seem to be going in one direction."
The defender then revealed the ambitious goal that he hopes to fulfil while he is contracted to Everton.
"It's always been an ambition of mine to play European football. I had a brief spell with Burnley in the qualifiers but we didn't make it to the group stages, so I want to get there," Tarkowski stated.
"It's the manager's goal, it's our goal as a team and, so far, we've started pretty well."
"We've had a decent start and we're definitely striving to get into those European spots and bring European football to our new stadium."
While there is still plenty of football to be played between now and the end of the current Premier League season, Everton have shown encouraging signs that they could be a surprise contender for the European spots.
