Eberechi Eze was denied what could have been a dream ending for his Crystal Palace career.

Eze fired in a free-kick for Palace against Chelsea in the Premier League yesterday, but his goal was ruled out and the match went on to finish 0-0.

The Palace forward has been heavily linked with a move to Tottenham Hotspur recently. However, Oliver Glasner's side does have a contingency plan in case of his departure.

The Athletic has reported that "Palace have made an approach to Club Brugge for attacker Christos Tzolis, as they pursue options in case Eberechi Eze exits Selhurst Park this summer."

Tzolis has Premier League experience from his time with Norwich City during the 2021/22 season. However, he failed to score or make an assist in 14 league games as the Canaries were relegated to the Championship.

The winger then spent time on loan at FC Twente and Fortuna Düsseldorf. Tzolis starred for Düsseldorf in Bundesliga 2, scoring 22 goals, with seven assists in 30 matches in the division.

He then joined Brugge permanently, where he has won the Belgian Cup and featured for them in the Champions League. The Greek international has already started this season well, finding the back of the net twice in Brugge's opening four Jupiler Pro League matches.
