Odsonne Edouard had three successful seasons at Crystal Palace before falling out of favour under Oliver Glasner.

Edouard was sent on loan to Leicester City last season, but only played four times in the Premier League as the Foxes were relegated.

Palace have had success recently, winning the FA Cup and the Community Shield. However, they have been demoted from the Europa League to the Europa Conference League.

Glasner will need a strong squad to compete domestically and in Europe in the upcoming campaign.

Edouard was left on the bench as Palace defeated Liverpool on penalties at Wembley last weekend, and could soon depart Selhurst Park.

Foot Mercato has reported (translated from French), "Nice has been making inroads with Crystal Palace in recent days regarding Odsonne Edouard (27 years old). The Frenchman, who already turned down Girona this summer, wants to join the Aiglons."

Edouard will have big boots to fill at Nice

Nice need a new forward after selling the highly rated Evann Guessand to Aston Villa this summer for £26 million.

Gueessand scored 12 goals, with nine assists in 33 Ligue 1 games last season, so Edouard has a lot to live up to at Nice.

Edouard does know French football, having been at Paris Saint-Germain and Toulouse. He is also only 27, and Ligue 1 could be the best place for him to start playing regularly again.
