Crystal Palace chairman reveals latest on Oliver Glasner's future at the club image

The future of Crystal Palace manager Oliver Glasner remains up in the air with speculation about his next moves regularly being a discussion point.

The Austrian, who replaced Roy Hodgson in the Selhurst Park dugout in February 2024, was appointed on a deal until the end of the current season.

Since joining, Glasner has transformed the fortunes of the Premier League club, as he led them to a first major trophy last season with victory over Manchester City in the FA Cup final.

Palace qualified for European competition for the very first time as a result, and are currently competing in the Europa Conference League after being demoted from Europa League participation for breaching multi-club ownership regulations.

Glasner oversaw a remarkable 19-match unbeaten run for The Eagles from April to right before the October international break, when Everton rallied late-on to beat his side 2-1.

The 51-year-old's impressive work from the touchline has caught the attention of other clubs, with Manchester United reportedly keeping close tabs on him due to doubts persisting over Ruben Amorim's future in the Old Trafford dugout.

Glasner not signing a new deal as of yet to remain as the Palace boss beyond this campaign has only raised suspicions he could be off if a club such as United come calling.

"We've had some early conversations. We would love to keep Oliver, we're building something," Parish told talkSPORT.

"I think for Oliver it's about the conditions being right," he added.

The Palace chairman then revealed what it may take to convince Glasner to commit to a new contract at Selhurst Park.

"It's about everything being in a way that he enjoys his work and he finds the conditions favourable to achieve."

"Oliver wants to win things, he makes no secret of that. That's what he's in football for. If we can align those interests then hopefully we can make something happen," Parish explained.

Palace currently sit sixth in the league table and are only four points off of leaders Arsenal, despite suffering a first loss of the season before the international break.

Glasner's side host fourth-place Bournemouth this Saturday afternoon (October 18), before they have another home outing the following Thursday night (October 23) against AEK Larnaca in the Conference League.
