Despite the vast amounts spent on assembling Chelsea's squad, they are still ninth in the Premier League.
The Blues are already eight points behind the leaders, Arsenal, and appear a long way off from challenging for the title.
Enzo Maresca has had success with Chelsea, winning the Club World Cup and the Europa Conference League.
However, the Italian will not be the long-term manager at Stamford Bridge if he cannot put them in a position to win the Premier League.

Could Andoni Iraola be the next Chelsea manager?
Iraola has impressed at Bournemouth this season, who are currently second in the Premier League.
The appointment of Iraola to Chelsea would seem similar to their decision to give Graham Potter the role.
Potter was a highly rated manager at Brighton, which, like Bournemouth, is a very well-run club.
However, Potter's short stint at Stamford Bridge was a disaster, and he was unable to rebuild his reputation at West Ham United.
He is now in international football with Sweden, which is a far cry from managing at a top Premier League side.
Iraola will not be at Bournemouth long if he continues to overachieve with the side he has.
However, it would be a gamble both on his part and Chelsea's if he were to become the next manager at Stamford Bridge.
