Ever since Todd Boehly took over the reins at Chelsea, the club have developed a philosophy of signing young players under the age of 25.
While their approach has paid dividends so far and will continue to do so going forward, it has left them with a largely inexperienced squad.
The Blues squad is so inexperienced at the moment that they are looking to the likes of Robert Sanchez and Tosin Adarabioyo for experience, both of whom are the average age for players in the Premier League.
This situation has led to some theorising that Enzo Maresca has not been backed in the transfer market, and it seems clear that experience is what is needed to help take them to the next level.
In such a situation, it comes as no surprise that Chelsea have been linked with a move for an experienced central midfielder, despite the talent that the team already possesses in that position.
Maresca’s team has been linked with a move for the player at the end of the season.

Chelsea tipped to sign Sergej Milinkovic-Savic at the end of the season
Sergej Milinkovic-Savic is a player who has been linked with a move to Chelsea for a long time.
The former Napoli midfielder is currently playing in Saudi Arabia for Al Hilal and is out of contract in the summer.
According to Corriere Dello Sport, the Blues are interested in the prospect of a free signing at the conclusion of the campaign.

Chelsea are no strangers to making opportunistic signings as they snapped up Alejandro Garnacho from Manchester United in the summer in a cut-price deal. At 30 years of age, Milinkovic-Savic would provide much-needed experience to the midfield.
