Chelsea star Liam Delap may have only joined the club recently, but he's already made an instant impression on the fans, during the FIFA Club World Cup.

Delap came off the bench to assist Enzo Fernandez for Chelsea’s second goal against Los Angeles FC in their club’s opening game of the tournament.

Alongside laying on that assist, the forward also impressed fans with his aggressive style of leading the Blues attack.

In the second game against Flamengo, though, Delap went overboard with his aggression and was booked for a nasty tackle.

The English striker now finds himself one booking away from a suspension in the competition, should Chelsea make it to the knockout stages in the USA.

Despite the pressure of a ban, Delap has vowed not to stop being aggressive on the pitch in the upcoming match against El Tunis.

Delap sets Club World Cup mission

"I love those battles," Delap told The Athletic. "I always have since I was a kid. I really love the aggressive side of it and the competitive nature of sport. It’s got to be controlled at times but it’s my game ultimately and I enjoy it."

"I’ve always had that same edge and I’m not going to change the way my mindset is. You’ve just got to make sure you’re on the right side of the edge."

The 22-year-old picked up 12 cautions in the Premier League last season, but was never sent off, in contrast to Nicolas Jackson, who was sent off against Flamengo and in a vital league game against Newcastle United.

Chelsea fans will love to see Delap continue being aggressive, as long as he does not overdo it and get himself into trouble, they will not mind it at all.
