After beginning his playing career with West Bromwich Albion, Enzo Maresca then joined Juventus, where he won the Serie A.

During his time at Juve, Maresca was also sent on loan to Bologna and Piacenza. His playing career was quite nomadic, as he went on to play for Fiorentina, Sevilla, Olympiacos, Malaga, Sampdoria, Palermo, and Hellas Verona.

Maresca's has also not been afraid to change clubs during his coaching career. He has worked as an assistant at Manchester City, West Ham United, Sevilla, and Ascoli.

The Italian also managed City's U23s and Parma before making a name for himself at Leicester City

Despite winning the Championship with Leicester during the 2023/24 season, Maresca then jumped ship to become Chelsea's manager.

Maresca has had success with Chelsea, winning the Club World Cup and the Europa Conference League. He also qualified them for the Champions League, but a certain disconnect remains between him and the Chelsea supporters.

Fans at Stamford Bridge do not seem to have taken to Maresca as they have done with their former managers, such as Jose Mourinho, Thomas Tuchel, Antonio Conte, and Frank Lampard.

Despite having a very expensively assembled squad, Chelsea remains far off from being able to challenge for the Premier League title. They are currently seventh in the division after seven games, but only five points behind the leaders, Arsenal

Chelsea is known for not being very patient with their managers. This was the case under Roman Abramovich and appears to be the same with Todd Boehly now in charge.

Marsca will know that Chelsea will not be a long-term job for him, so a return to Serie A could one day be on the cards.

Which Serie A club is interested in Enzo Maresca?

Matteo Moretto said on the Fabrizio Romano in Italiano YouTube channel (translated from Italian), "There’s a club in Italy that’s closely following Enzo Maresca’s matches and appreciates his qualities as a coach.

"There are no talks or negotiations at the moment; it’s more of a long-term idea. Enzo used to play for this club, it’s Juventus."

Juventus is currently managed by Igor Tudor, who has the side fifth and unbeaten in Serie A after six games. However, they have drawn their last three games.
