After losing top players, including Dean Huijsen, Ilya Zabarnyi, and Milos Kerkez, Bournemouth were expected to be in for a difficult season.

However, Andoni Iraola has guided the Cherries to a current second place in the Premier League after a 3-1 win over Fulham last night.

Iraola has been one of the names linked with replacing Ruben Amorim at Manchester United.  There is also speculation that the Red Devils are also interested in Oliver Glasner of Crystal Palace

Bournemouth will be keen to keep Amorim, with talkSPORT revealing that "discussions over extending his deal will ramp up over the coming months."

Is Andoni Iraola set for the Manchester United job?

Amorim is under huge pressure, with United currently languishing in 14th place in the Premier League.

The Red Devils lost to Brentford last week, going into that game after beating Chelsea. Amorim cannot seem to back up performances and string positive results together.

United take on newly promoted Sunderland today, which will be a tough game with Regis Le Bris' side unbeaten in their last four games.

Iraola is doing a great job at Bournemouth, but the lure of United will still be a big pull factor.

If the Cherries continue to sell their best players, then the manager will get frustrated. However, it is a risk joining United, as many top coaches have damaged their reputations by going there.
