Marcus Rashford made his first significant impact in a Barcelona shirt during the La Liga side's 6-0 thrashing of Valencia on Sunday evening (September 15).

Starting his second league game for Hansi Flick's side, the Englishman made the most of his opportunity as he set up Raphinha's second goal of the match, which put Barcelona 4-0 up.

The goal came from the 27-year-old putting in a low inswinging cross from the left-hand side and Raphinha getting the crucial touch, after Valencia keeper Julen Agirrezabala hesitated in coming to gather the ball.

Robert Lewandowski and Fermin Lopez also recorded braces in the contest, as the La Liga holders demonstrated that they are capable of functioning well in attack without Lamine Yamal.

The Spanish wonderkid missed the game through injury and is a doubt for Barcelona's opening Champions League tie away to Newcastle United on Thursday (September 18).

Rashford was ecstatic about registering his first goal involvement for the Spanish giants, writing "What a night!!" On a fresh Instagram post, shortly after featuring for his new side at the Johan Cruyff Stadium.

Rashford will be hoping he has done enough to remain in the starting line-up for Barcelona and can make a good impression against Newcastle from the off.

Thursday's European matchup will be the first time the forward has returned to England since departing Manchester United on a season-long loan this past summer.

With Barcelona set to have many matches domestically and in Europe over the coming months, it should be just a matter of time before Rashford gets his first goal in a Barcelona shirt.
