Morgan Rogers made Aston Villa history in England’s 5-0 World Cup qualifying win over Latvia on Tuesday (October 14) in his 10th appearance for the Three Lions.
According to Opta, Rogers entered an exclusive chapter in Aston Villa’s history, becoming only the third player in the club’s history to feature 10 or more times consecutively for England.
The 23-year-old midfielder now joins a distinguished group of Villa legends, both of whom also happen to be named Gareth.
Gareth Barry holds the record for 20 consecutive caps between August 2007 and April 2009, while former England manager Gareth Southgate achieved the milestone twice during the mid-1990s.

Rogers’ remarkable run highlights his growing importance for both club and country, with his sparkling form for Villa opening the door for him break into Thomas Tuchel’s plans earlier this year.
He has since become a regular presence in England’s midfield, often operating as a No. 10 just behind captain Harry Kane.
For Villa, Rogers’ emergence is a sign of the club’s resurgence at the top level.
A #ThreeLions goalscorer 🔥

A proud moment for @morgz_10.
Having one of their own consistently representing the Three Lions not only reflects his individual progress but also puts him shoulder to shoulder with two of Villa’s most iconic former captains in the record books.
Rogers earned his third consecutive England start on Tuesday, featuring for about 60 minutes as England ran riot over Latvia in Riga to seal their spot in next summer’s World Cup.
Last week, he scored his first England goal during their 3-0 triumph over Wales, bagging the match-opener after just three minutes.
Rogers’ consistency, combined with his ability to contribute directly to goals, suggests he is firmly establishing himself as a key figure for England while remaining an invaluable part of Unai Emery’s side at Villa Park.
