Emiliano Martinez was linked with a deadline day transfer to Manchester United. However, the Red Devils instead signed Senne Lammens from Royal Antwerp.
United have struggled in the goalkeeping department recently, so it is a surprise that they went for the young Belgian instead of the experienced Martinez.
Martinez had looked emotional when playing his final Premier League games last season, as it looked like his career at Aston Villa was coming to an end.
The goalkeeper has ended up staying at Villa, and there is little chance of him going to Turkey, whose transfer window is still open until September 12.
Galatasaray were reportedly interested, but Fabrizio Romano has posted on X: "Martínez not keen on Turkish league move and prepared to stay at Villa."

Martinez was suspended for Villa's opening Premier League game of the season as a result of his red card against United on the final day of the last campaign.
The Argentine then played against Brentford in Villa's second league game. However, he was left out of the squad to face Crystal Palace due to the interest from United.
His replacement, Marco Bizot, did not impress as Unai Emery's side fell to a 3-0 defeat to the Eagles.
It will be expected that Martinez will now return to Villa's starting lineup after the international break.
Martinez is now 33, but still considered one of the best keepers in the world. This is largely due to his heroics when helping Argentina win the World Cup in 2022.
At the end of the season, Argentina will be looking to retain the World Cup, so Martinez must ensure he plays regularly ahead of the tournament.
