In 2001, Jack Wilshere spent time in Luton Town's academy before joining Arsenal, where he made a name for himself.

Wilshere won the FA Cup with the Gunners and starred for them in the Premier League and Champions League.

However, injuries had a huge effect on his promising career. He left Arsenal in 2018 for West Ham United before also playing for Bournemouth and in Denmark with Aarhus Gymnastikforening.

The midfielder missed a lot of football due to injury, but is making up for lost time as a coach.

He managed Arsenal's U18s and took them to the final of the FA Youth Cup, where they lost to West Ham.

This followed a stint as Johannes Thorup's assistant at Norwich City. Wilshere even took charge of the Canaries for two Championship matches following the sacking of Thorup.

Wilshere's Norwich beat Cardiff City 4-2 and drew with Middlesbrough 0-0. However, the club chose Liam Manning to be their next permanent manager.

What will be Jack Wilshere's next managerial role?

The former Arsenal player was linked with the Plymouth Argyle job over the summer, which eventually went to his former England teammate, Tom Cleverley.

He also turned down the chance to return to the Gunners as an academy coach. However, he could now go back to Luton.

According to The Sun, "He is now being backed as the favourite for the vacant spot in the hotseat at former Premier League side Luton Town."

The Hatters currently have Alex Lawless in charge on an interim basis after Matt Bloomfield was dismissed.

Luton are now 11th in League One, which shows how far the team that competed in the Premier League during the 2023/24 season has fallen.

It is sad to see a big club like Luton drop so low in the English Football League, but Wilshere could be the man to turn around their fortunes.
