Arsenal are reportedly making plans for a massive summer bid to sign Newcastle United striker Alexander Isak.

According to reports from Mail Sport, the Gunners are willing to go above £100 million to secure the Swedish international’s services as they look to bolster their attacking options.

The need for a top-class striker became evident in Arsenal’s 2-0 loss to Newcastle earlier this season. Despite solid performances from Gabriel Jesus and Kai Havertz, Arsenal’s title challenge seems to lack the firepower needed to stay consistent.

While both players have delivered key moments, Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta is said to believe a prolific goal-scorer like Isak could be the final piece of the puzzle.

Isak’s recent performance at the Emirates has only strengthened Arsenal’s resolve. The striker not only scored Newcastle’s first goal but also played a pivotal role in their second during their Carabao Cup victory.

With his current contract running until 2028, Newcastle will be in a strong position to negotiate, but Arsenal have shown in the past — like with their £105 million signing of Declan Rice — that they are willing to spend big.

While Isak remains a top target, Arsenal are also exploring alternative options in case a deal cannot be reached.

Newcastle manager Eddie Howe is unlikely to part with his star player without a significant fight, and Arsenal may need to get creative with their summer budget.

The Gunners’ recent quieter transfer windows suggest they have the financial power to make such a move, but Newcastle’s reluctance to sell could pose a challenge.

One potential alternative option is Viktor Gyokeres, who is regarded by many as a perfect fit for Arsenal's needs.

Whatever happens, Arteta seems determined to add a marquee forward to his squad as Arsenal continue their hunt for Premier League glory.
