Arsenal have been handed a major boost as one of the team's most important players appears to have committed his long-term future to the club.
Centre-back William Saliba is set to extend his stay at the Emirates Stadium after a period of slight uncertainty over his future.
Per The Athletic's David Ornstein, the 24-year-old Frenchman will soon put pen to paper on a new five-year deal at Arsenal.
The defender's existing deal runs until the summer of 2027, but this imminent extension will keep him at the North London club until at least 2030.

Clubs including Spanish giants Real Madrid were believed to be monitoring Saliba's situation and plotting a potential move for him.
However, the French international has been keen to prolong his stay with Mikel Arteta's side and any doubts over his future will now be put to bed.
The new and improved terms Saliba has agreed to were proposed to him last month.

Saliba's new deal key for Arsenal's future
News of Saliba committing his long-term future to Arsenal will hand the Premier League side a massive boost for the remainder of the campaign and for the years ahead.
The 24-year-old is already one of the top centre-backs in world football and any success Arsenal are keen to have moving forward requires deploying a player of Saliba's quality in defence.
Had nothing been reported over an extension for the player, eventually tension may have been created within the club and Arteta would have been quizzed frequently about the matter.
Now that Saliba's future is all but sorted, the club will look to tie-down Bukayo Saka, as the talented winger's current deal is up at the end of the 2026/27 season.
