The ongoing India vs England 5th Test is heading into an exciting conclusion. With England 2-1 up in the series, the final day of the final Test match is going down to the wire.

India have been in the driver's seat for most of the match, eventually setting a target of 374 runs for England to chase in the fourth innings.

Both Joe Root and Harry Brook hit centuries with the latter going over a 100 strike rate. Opener Ben Duckett also scored a fifty. At the stumps on Day 4, England were 339/6, requiring 35 more to achieve a monumental run-chase.

What is the highest successful run chase in Test cricket?

In the near-150 year history of Test cricket, a target of 350+ has been successfully chased only 14 times. The highest target successfully chased down is 418, by West Indies against Australia in 2003.

If England manage to win this match, it will be the tenth highest target successfully chased down in Test history. Interestingly, England currently hold the record for the very same place, achieved in the first Test of this series at Leeds where they chased down 371 runs to go 1-0.
