RCB congratulates Jacob Bethell on his maiden ODI century for England against South Africa - "Start of the JB era"

Royal Challengers Bengaluru star Jacon Bethell had a memorable outing with England against South Africa in the third and final match of the series, as the left-hand batter hit his maiden ODI hundred on Sunday. 

England clashed with South Africa in the final ODI of the series at the Rose Bowl in Southampton. The third ODI is essentially a dead rubber contest as the Proteas have already clinched the series with a win at Lord's earlier this week.

However, the English batters played for pride and made sure they would end the series on a fighting note. Bethell and Joe Root scored a century each, while former ODI captain Jos Buttler played a fiery innings of 62 runs in 32 balls in the end to make sure the English go past the 400-run mark.

This was England's fifth-highest score in the ODI format and their seventh 400-plus total. Their highest total in ODI, though, remains 498, which they posted against Netherlands in 2022.

As Bethell achieved the milestone, his Indian Premier League franchise RCB congratulated the southpaw and shared some inspirational words for the youngster.
