ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2024: Groups, fixtures and schedule detailed - India and Pakistan grouped together

The ICC Men's T20 World Cup is all set to return for its ninth edition in 2024. The tournament will be held in the West Indies and USA, across nine different venues from June 1 to June 29. It is the first time that the USA will play host to a major ICC global tournament.

This T20 World Cup will be the biggest tournament yet, with a total of 20 teams participating. Apart from hosts West Indies and USA, the top 8 sides from the previous tournament; Australia, England, India, Netherlands, New Zealand, Pakistan, South Africa and Sri Lanka as well as the next two sides in the T20I rankings (Afghanistan and Bangladesh) received automatic qualification.

The teams which made it through the qualifiers in their respective regions are Ireland and Scotland (Europe), Papua New Guinea (East Asia-Pacific), Canada (Americas), Nepal and Oman (Asia), Namibia and Uganda (Africa).

ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2024: Official groups

The 20 participating teams have been split into four groups of five teams each. After each team plays each other in their groups, the top two in each group will qualify for the Super 8 stage, where the sides will be split into two groups of four. The top two teams in each group will then qualify for the semifinals.

ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2024: Official fixtures and schedule

The official schedule was released by ICC on Friday, January 5.

After the completion of the group stage, top two teams from each group will make it to the Super 8, where they will be clubbed in two groups of four teams each.

Super 8 and knockouts schedule:

The winners of Group A and C will be grouped with the runners-up of Group B and D. Meanwhile, the winners of Group B and D will be grouped with the runners-up of Group A and C.
