Oval Invincibles completed a historic hat-trick of titles in The Hundred 2025 - defeating Trent Rockets in the final to extend their dominance in the competition.

The win not only gave the London-based side its third consecutive crown but also propelled captain Sam Billings into an elite list of the most successful leaders in T20 cricket. His consistency across leagues has put him alongside some of the game's biggest names.

Most T20 titles won as captain

With the latest win, Billings now has five T20 titles as captain - placing him third on the all-time list. According to tournament records, he guided Kent Spitfires to the 2021 Vitality Blast, lifted the ILT20 trophy with Dubai Capitals and now added three back-to-back Hundred trophies with Oval Invincibles.

That tally puts him behind only MS Dhoni - who has nine titles, and Rohit Sharma, with eight. Billings shares the third spot with Shoaib Malik, who also has five.

Oval Invincibles' third straight crown in The Hundred

In the 2025 final, Oval Invincibles posted 168 after Will Jacks' explosive 72 and Jordan Cox's 40 steadied the innings. Despite losing opener Muyeye early, the side built a strong platform with an 87-run partnership.

Chasing, Trent Rockets struggled against Nathan Sowter who dismissed Tom Banton, Joe Root and Rehan Ahmed. With disciplined bowling all around, Trent Rockets finished at 142 - handing Oval Invincibles a 26-run win and their third successive title.

Billings' record now places him in a rare category of leaders who have built success across formats and leagues.
