Terence Crawford has responded to the possibility of a crossover boxing contest with one of MMA's biggest current stars.
UFC lightweight champion Ilia Topuria recently called out the new undisputed super-middleweight champion for a fight and suggested he would knock out Crawford in one round.
Crawford appeared to take a little dig at Topuria in his ring walk for his undisputed clash with Canelo Alvarez this past weekend.
The American boxer walked out to a live performance of Cancion del mariachi, with fans immediately pointing out that the song is the same one Topuria walks out to in his UFC bouts.
However, Crawford denied being aware of this when he was quizzed on it after beating Canelo.
Topuria responded to Crawford's choice of music for his ring walk on X, writing: "He walks out to MY song. Crawford, whenever you want, I’ll teach you how to dance that mariachi in the ring."
First he calls me drunk… then he walks out to MY song. Crawford, whenever you want, I’ll teach you how to dance that mariachi in the ring. And Canelo, I’ll save you a round after him.

Crawford addresses Topuria's fight callout
On Monday (September 15), Crawford was asked about a potential crossover boxing fight with Topuria during an appearance on the Ariel Helwani Show.
The five-weight world champion says he pays no attention to Topuria and believes the UFC star is just calling him out for attention.
"I''m not worried about that guy at all. I definitely think he's trying to clout chase. He'd definitely get in the ring with me for the right check, that's what we all do it for," Crawford commented.
"But at the same time, I don't know what he's doing, what he's thinking. He ain't nothing to talk about," the Omaha native added.
The 37-year-old then dismissed a potential bout with Topuria generating the same level of hype as the 2017 crossover boxing contest between Floyd Mayweather and Conor McGregor.
"What money would I get out of fighting him (Topuria)? Tell me how much I'm going to get, please. He's nowhere near on the level of Conor McGregor, let's be real. Don't ever compare him to Conor."
"I don't know this guy. I've never seen this guy fight and I watch a lot of MMA," Crawford stated.
Topuria is yet to respond to Crawford's recent comments but fans will expect him to speak out considering he called out the boxer first.
