Oleksandr Usyk is the Ring Magazine heavyweight champion

The Ring Magazine have released their latest heavyweight rankings with their No.1 position featuring a very surprising name, which has triggered many boxing fans into disbelief.

Champion: Oleksandr Usyk

1. Tyson Fury

2. Daniel Dubois

3. Joseph Parker

4. Agit Kabayel

5. Anthony Joshua

6. Filip Hrgovic

7. Zhilei Zhang

8. Martin Bakole

9. Fabio Wardley

10. Efe Ajagba

The question many fight fans are asking is how can a fighter who has officially declared his retirement remain as No.1 in the rankings?

Tyson Fury announced his retirement from boxing in January 2025, following his second consecutive defeat to Oleksandr Usyk.

So, not only has "The Gypsy King" officially retired, he has lost his last two fights.

Fury's last win came 20 months ago in October 2023, and within that same time, fellow Brit Daniel Dubois has won all three fights to become IBF world heavyweight champion, yet sits one place below in the rankings.

Dubois next fights against Usyk on July 19 at Wembley Stadium in the first-ever undisputed heavyweight match on UK soil.

It remains unclear whether Fury will fight again.
