Jake Paul has his next opponent. After being scheduled to take on Gervonta Davis, Paul and his camp pivoted to Anthony Joshua when Davis backed out.

Paul and Joshua will duke it out on Friday, December 19 on Netflix. The fight will be held in Miami, Florida, and while that isn't a typical big boxing venue, it isn't expected to mean less money is on the table for the competitors.

This is not an exhibition match; it will be a professional fight, with the result going to each fighter's record. The fight is scheduled for eight, three-minute rounds, which makes it shorter than typical main-event fights.

Here's what you need to know about the purses for Paul and Joshua for Friday night's fight.

Jake Paul vs. Anthony Joshua fight purse

The fight purse for Jake Paul vs. Anthony Joshua has not been confirmed but is rumored to be at least $184 million, according to The Daily Mail and other reports before the fight. In November, Paul claimed the figure was actually an astronomical $267 million in a post on X.

“Stop asking me. $267 million," he said.

Joshua contradicted those numbers during fight week, however, when asked if the fight would give him his biggest payout of his career (which previously stood at $52 million for fighting Francis Ngannou).

"Unfortunately, it's not," Joshua said.

If correct, even the lowest reported figures would mean a staggering $92 million in takehome cash for both Joshua and Paul — one of the largest boxing purses in history.

For comparison, when Paul took on Mike Tyson in his last fight, it was reported that he came away with $40 million, while Tyson earned $20 million.

What is Jake Paul's net worth?

According to CelebrityNetWorth, Paul has a net worth of $200 million. If the rumors about the purse on Friday night are true, Paul could see a hefty increase to this figure. Paul has made most of his money from social media, with some income from acting and his recent boxing career.

Jake Paul career earnings

In Paul's early fights, he consistently made between $1 million and $3 million. His biggest payday ahead of Friday against Joshua was Tyson, where Paul reportedly came away with an absurd $40 million from the bout. So far in his career, he has made around $20 million from the money that he hasn't donated.

What is Anthony Joshua's net worth?

According to CelebrityNetWorth, Joshua has an estimated net worth of $150 million. The majority of Joshua's net worth comes from his boxing career, as well as sponsorships.

Anthony Joshua career earnings

Unlike Paul, the majority of Joshua's career earnings come directly from being a professional boxer. He has a 28-4 career record, and is most recently coming off a loss.

Per Celebrity Net Worth, when Joshua beat Wladimir Klitschko in 2017 and won the WBA heavyweight title, he made about $17 million. Against Andy Ruiz Jr. Inside Madison Square Garden, Joshua earned about $25 million (that includes fight night incentives). After he lost to Ruiz, Joshua activated his rematch clause, and in Saudi Arabia in December 2019 Joshua won the rematch and earned $60 million.

He benefited greatly from back-to-back fights against Oleksandr Usyk in 2021. In his first loss, he took home $20 million, but earned more than $75 million in the rematch. Joshua will see a hefty uptick in his career earnings after the fight against Paul, regardless of whether he wins or loses.
