Deontay Wilder (43-4-1, 42 KOs) has split with long-term trainer Malik Scott on amicable terms.
Former WBC world heavyweight champ, Wilder, explained why they pair have split, "We're brothers and always will be brothers. We talk all the time and there's nothing bad between us.
"Sometimes things change and this was one of those times."
Former pro Malik Scott has been part of Wilder's team for over 10 years since 2014.
He added his statement, "I wanted the best for Deontay. He called me and let me know we were doing things different in the corner for this fight.
"We thanked each other for all we did for each other and I know he's in good hands."
Scott joined "The Bronze Bomber's" team after he was knocked out by Wilder in the first round of their March 2014 fight. Scott lasted just 96 seconds with the fearsome puncher.
In under a year's time from then, Wilder became America's first heavyweight world champion since 2007, which is the longest time in history without an American heavyweight champ.
As his trainer, Scott only managed to win one fight with Wilder, which came against sparring partner Robert Helenius in 2022.
Now 39, Wilder has lost four from his last five fights.
But the Alabaman plans to change that run next month when he faces Texas heavyweight champion Tyrell Anthony Herndon (24-5, 15 KOs) in Wichita over 10-rounds, live on BLK Prime.
There's no shortage of potential opponents out there for him in the heavyweight division, with fans still calling for the fight with Anthony Joshua.
However, Wilder himself said he is looking for a series of warm-up fights first, over the course of this year and into 2026.
