Canelo calls for UK fight

Four-weight world ruler and two-time undisputed super-middleweight champion, Saul Canelo Alvarez (63-2-2, 39 KOs), has confirmed his desire to fight in the UK before he retires, and named Chris Eubank Jr (35-3, 25 KOs) as his opponent he would most like to face.

The 34-year-old Mexican megastar declared, "I want to fight in the UK and I promise I will do.

"I don't know exactly where yet, but I am going to do it.

"Would people like to see me against Chris Eubank Jr?" he quizzed. "Maybe that's the fight.

"That's a fight I would consider, but we don't know what is going to happen."

Before anything else, Canelo is due to fight Terence Crawford on September 13 in a defence of his undisputed super-middleweight championship.

And Brighton boxer Eubank Jr, 35, is contracted to a rematch with British rival Conor Benn, scheduled for September, according to Matchroom promoter Eddie Hearn.

If they both fight in the same month this year, win or lose, a majority of fight fans would be keen to see a Canelo vs Eubank showdown next.
