The first fight of 2026 will see Amanda Serrano defend her status as the unified flyweight champion against Reina Tellez.

Tellez (13-0-1) replaces Erika Cruz, who had an atypical finding in a drug test.

Serrano (47-4-1), a seven-division champion, is coming off a trilogy against Katie Taylor, where she went 0-3. She has held featherweight gold since 2019 and continues to make history, competing in 12 three-minute round fights.

“The Real Deal” heads home to compete in Puerto Rico. Getting back to her winning ways could result in a big year for Serrano.

Tellez is a two-time National Junior Olympics silver medalist. The 22-year-old went 2-0 in 2025 and is ready to cause a massive upset in 2026.

“This fight is bigger than me,” Tellez told BoxingScene. “It’s about representing every young girl who’s ever been told she couldn’t make it in a sport like this. To fight for a world title, against someone like Serrano, is something I’ve worked for every single day.

“I’m going into that ring with pride, purpose, and a belief that I belong on this stage.”

Another world title bout featuring a Hall of Famer is on the Amanda Serrano vs. Reina Tellez undercard, while several fighters signed to MVP look to impress.
