After a very busy summer, we are now approaching autumn when the football season really does kick into gear and September sees the return of the UEFA Champions League, the UEFA Europa League and the UEFA Europa Conference League.
As well as that, the Premier League and the EFL continue at apace with the third round of the EFL Cup and some crucial FIFA World Cup qualifiers also taking place.
After a brilliant summer of Test cricket, England's white-ball leg of the summer now begins as they take on South Africa and Ireland this month.
The Ryder Cup also returns to the United States this month, as a star studded Team USA seek to regain the trophy against a strong European side.
Elsewhere, the 2025 NFL season also gets underway, whilst Formula One restarts after their summer break with the Italian Grand Prix in Monza, as well as the Azerbaijan Grand Prix. The Women's World Cup in Rugby Union will also conclude this month, whilst the Super League in Rugby League reaches its denoument.
Elsewhere, the final Grand Slam of the year in tennis finishes up with the US Open in New York, whilst there are some big darts events ahead of the end of season majors.
