There are plenty of outright markets for punters to get excited by during the football season, aside from the regular staple accumulators, from league title winners, relegation odds and the race for the European spots, as well as the Golden Boot award.
Another of the most popular markets in the Premier League season is always the sack race, predicting who will become the first or next manager to leave his post in England’s top-flight.
The managerial merry-go-round is a source of constant concern for those destined to ride it, but correctly predicting it can be an excellent way to maximise your winnings. The Sporting News is here to give you a rundown of who the leading early contenders are to be the first manager sacked in the Premier League this season.

Which Premier League manager will be sacked first 2025/26?
The sack race is up and running for 2025/26, and here we round up the latest contenders to be first out of a job in the Premier League.
Daniel Farke
Farke led Leeds United to the Championship title on the final day of last season, before reports almost immediately suggested he would be sacked despite that triumph.
The club’s hierarchy have instead decided to stick by the German and he has been backed with quite a few impressive and experienced signings during the summer transfer window.
However, suggestions he is already in an unstable position at Elland Road heading into the campaign, combined with his woeful Premier League record at Norwich City, make him one of the favourites to be the first man shown the door in the top-flight this season.
Leeds started with a 1-0 win over Everton, before a 5-0 thrashing at Arsenal brought them back down to earth.
Keith Andrews
Brentford have been known for their smart operations over the last decade or so but Matthew Benham relinquishing his involvement with the Bees is coinciding with a mini exodus at the club.
Thomas Frank departed for Tottenham Hotspur with key men Bryan Mbeumo and Christian Norgaard leaving for Manchester United and Arsenal respectively, while goalkeeper Mark Flekken has joined Bayer Leverkusen and the future of Yoane Wissa remains uncertain, too.
Andrews is a novice manager, having most recently been the set-piece coach with the west Londoners, and the former Republic of Ireland international has an enormous job on his hands. Their 1-0 win over Aston Villa last time out was a key boost for Andrews.
Regis Le Bris
Le Bris was a gamble of an appointment taken by Sunderland last summer, but for much of last season they marked themselves out as one of the best teams in the Championship.
They collapsed towards the end of the campaign before rediscovering some form in the nick of time to see off both Coventry City and then Sheffield United in the play-offs.
Sunderland have spent heavily and ambitiously this summer, and that may end up working against Le Bris in the end with the pressure having been cranked up on the Frenchman to not just avert the danger zone, but also steer the Black Cats higher up the table. With an opening win over West Ham followed by a tame defeat at Burnley, it's still tough to know which direction it will go for Sunderland and Le Bris.

Scott Parker
Parker is at his third club as a Premier League manager, having previously had to depart both Fulham and AFC Bournemouth after guiding both clubs to promotion from the Championship.
With Fulham, he took charge midway through a campaign that saw them suffer relegation but immediately brought them back to the Premier League via the play-offs. However, he could not prevent another season of struggle at the highest level and left in 2021 following relegation.
At Bournemouth, their automatic promotion was followed by Parker leaving before the end of August after a 9-0 loss to Liverpool at Anfield.
Parker produced one of the best defences ever seen in the EFL with Burnley last season but the departure of CJ Egan-Riley and likely sale of James Trafford marks the Clarets out as strugglers once again, even if their win over Sunderland was a welcome boost.
