Next Nottingham Forest Manager Odds: Favourites to replace Nuno include Ange Postecoglou and Jose Mourinho image

The Premier League season is only three games old but we already have our first managerial sacking, with Nuno Espirito Santo sensationally sacked by Nottingham Forest.

The Portuguese manager had guided to Forest to seventh place and European qualification for the first time in 30 years, but a falling out with both owner Evangelis Marinakis and Global Head of football Edu has led to his departure just weeks into the campaign.

The question now is who will replace Nuno at the City Ground, with several big names linked with the vacancy including a Premier League-winning legend.

The Sporting News has all the latest odds on the next Nottingham Forest manager.

Jose Mourinho 7/222%
Brendan Rodgers11/215%
Sean Dyche 8/111%
Oliver Glasner 9/110%

Who is the favourite to be the next Forest manager?

The former Tottenham and Celtic manager Ange Postecoglou is the odds-on favourite to take the job, having reportedly held talks with the club in recent days.

Postecoglou is of Greek heritage, and already has a personal relationship with Marinakis, which swings the odds further in his favour. As does his European success with Spurs, with the Forest hierarchy looking for a repeat in the Europa League this season.

The Australian did get the sack at Spurs having also finished 17th in the league last season, but that does not appear to be a sticking point in his likely appointment.

His style of play could not be more different to Nuno's with radical change at the City Ground across the board now on the cards.

The three-time Premier League-winning manager has been out of work since his own sacking by Fenerbahce less than two weeks ago, and is among the favourites to replace Nuno, who he once managed at Porto.

A return to England is also possible at West Ham, with Graham Potter's future very uncertain given results, while Russell Martin's major struggles with Rangers could see a shock move up north for the Special One.

Mourinho has been linked with the Portuguese national team job for two decades, but could he finally take it either before or after the 2026 World Cup?

The riches that come with any managerial role in Saudi Arabia mean a move there can't be ruled out either.

Who else is in the running according to the betting odds

It looks like a straight shootout between Postecoglou and Mourinho, but there's a few other managers in line according to the bookmakers.

Brendan Rodgers has managed three clubs in the Premier League, achieving varying levels of success with Swansea, Liverpool and Leicester, with silverware delivered in his time with the Foxes.

He is currently in his second spell at Celtic, but could be swayed into a return to England.

Sean Dyche is the least glamorous name among the favourites, having been out of work since getting the sack at Everton back in January. His style of play is similar to Nuno's but is unlikely to get fans off their seats at the City Ground.

Oliver Glasner's arrival would given the feud between Crystal Palace and Forest over European qualification and the ownership issues at Selhurst Park. Could the Austria shock the Eagles and fly to the City Ground? Stranger things have happened.
