The big breaking news today is that Mohamed Salah will not be included in the Liverpool squad for the team's Champions League match with Inter this week.
The decision has been made by the board and manager Arne Slot after the winger's explosive comments in the aftermath of Liverpool's 3-3 draw with Leeds on Saturday night.
He accused the club and head coach Slot of making him a scapegoat for the team's poor form, making a January departure from Anfield feel almost inevitable.
He even suggested he will use this weekend's game with Brighton as an opportunity to say goodbye to the fans before he joins up with the Egypt squad for the Africa Cup of Nations. Where will he end up?

Does Salah want to leave Liverpool?
Following his remarkable interview on December 6, Mohamed Salah made it pretty clear that he is open to leaving Liverpool in the January transfer window.
The 33-year-old suggested that the Premier League game against Brighton at Anfield on December 13 could be his last and that he had told his family to come to see his "goodbye" to the fans.
There is no guarantee he will leave, of course. Last year, Salah told the media that he was "more out than in" at Liverpool amid protracted negotiations over a new contract, which eventually ended with him signing a new deal. Things feel a bit different this time, though.

What teams are interested in Salah?
The betting odds above suggest that Saudi Arabia would be the likeliest port of call for Salah should he leave Liverpool in January. He is odds on to join Any Saudi Arabian team on BetVictor, with Al Ittihad Jeddah favoured among those priced up at 5/1.
If a deal could be struck with Liverpool, the player would almost certainly go to one of the four biggest (and best-funded) clubs in the league: Al Ahli, Al Ittihad, Al Hilal, or Al Nassr.
It seems unlikely that Al Nassr would sign Salah given they already have Cristiano Ronaldo. However, it has been suggested that Al Hilal would be Salah's most likely destination. Liverpool sold Darwin Nunez to the Riyadh-based club in August 2025 for around £46m ($61m).

The first non-Saudi team in the betting stakes are Atletico Madrid, nine points adrift of La Liga leaders Barcelona after winning just nine of their first 16 matches.
The odds suggest the bookmakers are all-but ruling out a Premier League stay with another club other than Liverpool - Arsenal and Chelsea are 33/1 to sign Salah in January, while Man United - the team Salah has scored the most goals against (16) coming in at 66/1.
