England are well on course to qualify for the 2026 World Cup, but who will be in the squad for next summer's tournament in the US, Canada and Mexico?

Thomas Tuchel has got off to a 100% start in qualifying, and has chopped and changed his squad, with new faces coming in, as well as an old head returning in Jordan Henderson.

Former regular Jack Grealish has started the season on fire with Everton but not made Tuchel's first squad of the season, while Phil Foden and Kobbie Mainoo are two of many others who could also make their way back into the Three Lions' squad over the next nine months.

Let's take a look at the current odds for selection.

England World Cup Squad Odds

It's not been confirmed yet whether teams will have 23 or 26 man squads, and form and Tuchel's preference will also heavily shape selection, so these odds could greatly change in the coming months.

Marcus Rashford has been selected in all of Tuchel's squad, but his odds suggest he will need to thrive at Barcelona to hold down his place for next summer. Jack Grealish already looks like a lock by the time of October's squad, while Ben White, who has not played for England since the 2022 World Cup, could still make a return.

Who will make the England squad for the 2026 World Cup?

The odds reflect who is already guaranteed a place on the plane across the Atlantic barring injury, with captain Harry Kane, Jude Bellingham, Declan Rice, Bukayo Saka, Cole Palmer and Jordan Pickford all first-choice picks.

From here, things get a bit more interesting with Tuchel having so many options in almost every position. Trent Alexander-Arnold is odds-on to make the squad but was not selected for the World Cup qualifiers against Andorra and Serbia.

Conversely, Djed Spence (3/1), Dan Burn (6/4) and Jordan Henderson (5/1) are all rank outsiders for selection with the bookies, but all made Tuchel's most recent squad.

As for Tuchel's former Chelsea favourite Mason Mount (5/1) and his Manchester United teammates Kobbie Mainoo (7/4) and Harry Maguire (2/1), they all face a big fight to get back into national team plans ahead of next summer.

Thomas Tuchel's Predicted England World Cup XI

Tuchel has tried out plenty of players and systems in his short and mostly unimpressive start with England, but it feels likely he will play a 4-2-3-1 or 4-3-3 formation next summer to get the best out of his best players.

This is how we think the Three Lions might line up come June 2026.

Thomas Tuchel England Results

As mentioned, Tuchel's start to life with the national team has been far from impressive, even if he has won three of his four games in charge to date.

He won his three opening World Cup qualifiers in unspectacular fashion, comfortably beating Albania (2-0) and Latvia (3-0) before stumbling past minnows Andorra (1-0).

A 3-1 home loss to Senegal in June exposed the issues that have yet to be fixed under the German, and tempered expectations heading into the 2025/26 season.
