UEFA Women's Champions League final Arsenal vs. Barcelona expert betting tips, predictions, preview and odds image

This weekend sees Sporting CP’s Estadio Jose Alvalade stadium in Lisbon host the final of the UEFA Women’s Champions League, with Arsenal seeking to win their second-ever Champions League title against a Barcelona team looking to make it three European cups on the bounce and four in the last five seasons.

Former Netherlands international Renee Slegers arrived in October after the sacking of Jonas Eidevall, and she has led the Gunners to a first Champions League final since they won the competition in 2007, despite having finished 12 points below Chelsea at the top of the Women’s Super League table and being knocked out of the quarter-finals of the FA Cup and the semi-finals of the League Cup.

Barcelona have been the dominant force of women's European football for some time now and it is their fifth successive final, with six appearances in the last seven seasons in the showpiece event.

Since 2019, Barcelona Femeni have dominated Spanish and European football, but there has been a slight wobble, for their standards at least, in the last couple of months.

Over 2.5 goals (7/20, 10Bet)

Arsenal overcame Real Madrid with a stunning second-half turnaround in the second-leg of their quarter-final in March before another comeback victory against a strong Lyon side in the semi-finals.

Their chaotic nature, which has often led to inconsistent performances and results domestically, let alone in this competition, does lead to extremely entertaining and dramatic matches.

With that in mind, this one is expected to be another fun affair, as their opponents are frankly ludicrous in terms of their goalscoring capabilities. The Blaugrana have smashed an insane amount of goals in again this season, with 200 notched in 47 matches across all competitions.

Arsenal to win either half (16/5, Paddy Power)

Arsenal have produced some stunning turnarounds in the this competition with their 3-2 aggregate win over Madrid coming having been 2-0 down at half-time of the second-leg and then a 2-1 loss to Lyon in the first-leg at home being followed by a simply sensational away performance at Parc OL to win 5-3 on aggregate.

They tend to save their best for when their backs are up against the wall, and Barcelona are heavy favourites in Lisbon. They will look to have the tie wrapped up in the first half.

If that is the case then, even if this time they cannot produce the heroics to turn the game on its head once again, Arsenal winning the second half may well be a good value bet.

Arsenal vs. Barcelona predicted score and most likely results

TSN Tip: Barcelona to win & BTTS (5/4, Betfair

Score prediction: Arsenal 2-3 Barcelona (14/1, Betfair)

As mentioned, Barca score for fun and that should mean that, against an Arsenal side that have proven themselves susceptible against much weaker opposition than the Catalans, they can notch a few and win the final.

However, their own fragility has been exposed more this season than last, with a defeat to Manchester City in the group stages and as many defeats in the league as they had suffered in the last five league campaigns combined.
