今回の動画では、チャンネルスタッフからの質問に答える形で両氏がトークを展開。その中で、王鵬について見解を求められた田宮氏は、今の相撲に足りていない要素を挙げた。
Wang Peng achieved a notable performance in the January Grand Sumo Tournament, reaching the playoff for the championship with a record of 12 wins and 3 losses. However, in the March tournament, where he was promoted to the new rank of Sanyaku as Sekiwake, he finished with a losing record of 6 wins and 9 losses, causing him to drop back to the Maegashira ranks. He subsequently recorded 7 wins in two consecutive tournaments, but then achieved 10 wins in the September tournament, earning him a return to the Sekiwake position. Nevertheless, he narrowly missed a winning record in the November tournament with 7 wins, and is expected to be demoted to Komusubi for the upcoming January Grand Sumo Tournament.
Regarding Oho, who has struggled and hasn't achieved a winning record in the top three ranks, Mr. Tamiya commented, "He seems like he'd become stronger if he fought like his father. He should engage in fierce bouts that opponents dislike. Unlike his father, his sumo itself appears gentle." Tamiya suggested that while Oho's strength lies in his powerful pushing and thrusting, his current style might be too straightforward.
He continued, "More powerful punches with rotation, and striking the face with a forceful thrust, that kind of intense sumo. I think opponents would dislike that. While straightforward sumo is good, if you don't wrestle in a way that bothers your opponent, there's no fear or unpleasantness. Take Takayasu (former ozeki, now komusubi); he changes things up with fine-tuned thrusts, doesn't he?" He also brought up Takayasu, who maintains his skill despite being 35 years old, suggesting the need to consider and incorporate a wrestling style that makes it difficult for opponents.
Mr. Tamiya suggested that one might try using quick jabs against certain opponents or go for a decisive chokehold. He felt that Oho, who is in his prime at 25, seemed to be fighting somewhat aimlessly at times, and emphasized the importance of employing tactics that an opponent dislikes. He expressed a hope that Oho would further develop his skills.
