In its previous race, the Japan Cup, Danon Dessail had contact with Masquerade Ball (3-year-old colt, trained by Tezuka) after crossing the finish line. Danon Dessail bolted, and jockey Tosaki, who was riding, fell off. Trainer Yasuda Sho commented on X, stating, "We've already resumed riding and training, and we'll strive to send him out in perfect condition," emphasizing his well-being. Jockey Tosaki has also announced his participation in this week's races, indicating that both horse and rider are heading to the major winter event unharmed.
なお、この乗り替わりにより昨年戸崎騎手とのコンビで有馬記念を制し、連覇を狙うレガレイラ（牝5、木村）は乗り替わりとなることが決まった。
