TL;DR

  • * The Tenno Sho (Autumn) is a prestigious 2000m turf race at Tokyo Racecourse.
  • * It features a clash between top three-year-olds and seasoned older horses.
  • * Tastiiera is the favorite, aiming for her first Tenno Sho (Autumn) victory.
  • * The betting strategy focuses on Tastiiera in first place for trifecta bets.

The autumn Tokyo showdown features the winner of the Satsuki Sho, the Derby winner, and strong older horses. The Tenno Sho (Autumn) (Turf 2000m), which decides Japan's middle-distance champion, is a high-level race that demands everything: speed, explosive power, and positioning. Led by last year's runner-up Tastiyeira, the race will see a clash between the surging three-year-olds and the seasoned older horses in their prime.

展開

The setting is Tokyo Racecourse, 2000m, a track that demands speed, explosive power, and skillful maneuvering. Meisho Tabaru is likely to take the lead, with Houou Biscuits potentially challenging from the outside. Both horses tend to go fast from the start, suggesting a pace faster than average. Tastiiera and Masquerade Ball will follow closely from good positions, leading to a battle of acceleration in the straight. Ecolo Waltz, Shirankedo, and Brady Vague will be positioned towards the rear, expected to unleash their speed in the final three furlongs. This scenario points to a challenging race for those in front. If that happens, the horses that start from the inside will also have a chance.

予想

Tastiera is the favorite. She was second last year and has an excellent record at Tokyo Racecourse with [4 starts, 2 wins, 1 second place]. Last year, she finished second by going directly from The Tenno Sho (Spring) and this year, despite coming directly from Hong Kong, the rest period is almost the same. Her third consecutive partnership with D. Lane is also reassuring. This proven mare, possessing both speed and stamina, aims for her long-desired Tenno Sho (Autumn) victory.

Masquerade Ball is challenging the 3-year-old generation. Having proven top-tier ability in its generation with a 3rd in the Satsuki Sho and 2nd in the Derby, it boasts a 100% in-the-money rate in Tokyo with 2 wins and 1 second place in 3 starts. It excels in races with sharp finishes and doesn't fall short even against older horses.

Last year's third-place finisher, Houou Biscuits, consistently performs well on Tokyo's turf over 2000m, and with the right race conditions, could again make it into the top three.

Museum Mile is this year's Satsuki Sho winner. He convincingly won his previous race, the St. Lite Kinen, demonstrating a high level of polish even after a break. The shorter distance should also be an advantage.

Ecorovaltz excels at quick finishes. It demonstrated its strength with a 4th place finish, just 0.3 seconds behind, in the Osaka Hai, and has potential to improve if the race is decided by time.

Shilanke is steadily improving, with two wins and one third-place finish in graded stakes races. In his previous race, the Niigata Kinen, he decisively defeated Energico, who later became the Kikuka Sho winner. Now 5 years old and in his prime, he can't be overlooked even in G1 races.
