Heading into the Abu Dhabi GP final, where each contender has a shot at victory, Italian newspaper *Gazzetta dello Sport* on December 6th inquired about the feelings of a champion who has experienced similar title deciders in final races. This was Jacques Villeneuve, who secured his crown in 1997 after a contest with Michael Schumacher.

一方のフェルスタッペンについては、「負けたとしても、いずれにしても彼の勝利（だから落ち着いている）」と述べた。
「今季は4戦前に決まっていたはずなのに、彼が巻き返し、F1において重要なのはドライバーだと示した。ベストのマシンがベストのドライバーに挑んでいるんだ。ワクワクするね」
フェルスタッペンのほうがタイトルにふさわしいのか問われると、ビルヌーブは「今季の彼はこのスポーツの歴史に残る偉人のひとりである理由を支援した」と答えている。
「シーズン中に決して屈することなく、モータースポーツに対する素晴らしい情熱を際立たせた。マックスはレースに生きている。トラックにいるときにそう感じさせる」
ノリスは逃げ切ることができるのか。フェルスタッペンが逆転するのか。それともピアストリが両者を追い越すのか。アブダビGP決勝は日本時間12月7日午後10時からだ。
