Gaethje (27-5) came into the fight looking to retire as champion by 2027. He started guns blazing and didn’t slow down. “The Highlight” landed several uppercuts and jabs that cut the face of Pimblett (23–4), participating in the toughest fight of his career.
The eye of Pimblett got poked at one point. He attempted to use elbows to hurt Gaethje. They were efficient. Gaethje’s strikes, which dropped Pimblett, were just too much.
The winner is likely to face Spanish superstar and lightweight hero Ilia Topuria later in the year.
