IPL 2025 runners-up Punjab Kings step into the IPL 2026 mini auction with their core squad retained. They have released only six players from the last squad, which includes big names like Glenn Maxwell and Josh Inglis.

With a moderate purse available and few gaps to address, it will be interesting to see how PBKS approaches the mini-auction in Abu Dhabi next month.

The Indian Premier League mini-auction will take place at the Etihad Arena in Abu Dhabi on Tuesday, December 16.

PBKS auction purse and squad gaps for IPL 2026

After the recent retention and trade updates, PBKS will enter the mini auction with only INR 11.50 crore in their purse. They also have four slots open, including two overseas positions.

They have released only players like Glenn Maxwell, Josh Inglis, Aaron Hardie, Kuldeep Sen, Praveen Dubey, Kyle Jamieson, which means that PBKS are not expected to be too involved in the auction an option this year.

Overseas top-order targets for PBKS

PBKS have Prabhsimran Singh and Priyansh Arya in the opening slot, who enjoyed tremendous success last season. They also boast of having seasoned campaigners like Shreyas Iyer to support youngsters.

Yet, the team management could consider signing an overseas top order batter to further strengthen roster and could sign one of Devon Conway or Rachin Ravindra.

Overseas all-rounder options for PBKS

PBKS have two solid all-rounders in Marcus Stoinis and Marco Jansen, yet they could go after an overseason all-round to further boost the squad.

They will target Australian all-rounder Cameron Green, but he is likely to be much sought-after talent in the auction.
