As things stand, MI have 20 players in their arsenal and five slots are remaining, including one overseas.

After swooping in some players through trades, let us have a look at the areas they need to fix and who could be their potential targets.

MI auction purse and squad gaps for IPL 2026

Following the release of fringe players and some player trades and swaps, the Men in Blue only have ₹2.75 crore left to spend in the auction room.

The releases of the likes of Bevon Jacobs, Reece Topley and Karn Sharma and the trades of Mayank Markande, Shardul Thakur and Sherfane Rutherford have balanced the squad already. However, they can still bring in some domestic talent at low prices or fill in the open overseas squad.

With a well-rounded team already at their disposal, MI could be looking to add depth to their squad by adding a wicketkeeper, which can help them try out different combinations.

Wicketkeeper batter for MI:

Aryan Juyal: The Mumbai-based franchise can swoop in the 24-year-old Aryan Juyal, who has shown consistency in domestic cricket and has the potential to replicate what Ishan Kishan did for them back in the day.

He was released by the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) and could be available in their budget.

Luvnith Sisodia:  After his stints with RCB and KKR, Sisodia continues to wait for his break, after losing a considerable amount of time injured. He could also be among the cheaper options in the auctions.

In his time with Hubli Tigers in the Maharaja Trophy, he has scored 821 runs at a strike rate of 146.08, which can come in handy for MI.

Considering their budget, there would not be many overseas options that MI can buy from the auction, nor do they need to bid for one.
