Earlier in the summer, Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) ended their 18 year wait to win the Indian Premier League (IPL) after they defeated the Punjab Kings (PBKS) in the final by 6 runs.
Soon after they clinched their first title, the murmurs of the sale of the franchise started catching attention. Upon the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) seeking clarification from the owners, the rumours were dismissed by Diageo.
Despite the owners terming the rumours as 'speculative', the interest from the potential buyers kept increasing before the team went up for grabs.
